Southampton Container Terminal awarded SEWARD
WYON the contract for increasing the height of five Morris ship
to shore container cranes at Southampton.
SEWARD WYON have developed a new innovative jacking system to
increase the lift height of the Morris built cranes on the main
SCT terminal, which were first commissioned in 1993.
This new 1000 tonne jacking system has been designed and engineered
in our Bristol workshops and has been built to withstand wind
speeds of 80-mph, utilising eight-185te computer controlled strand
jacks.
The system has been designed so that, if required, each strand
jack can be removed or replaced with ease - even during the lifting
cycle
Existing and bespoke Jacking systems can also be designed and
engineered for specific requirements and are available worldwide
along with our project engineering team.
SEWARD WYON offers a comprehensive Structural, Mechanical and
Electrical crane inspection service, which is available either
as part of a routine inspection schedule or to investigate modifications
to existing crane design
